Sleepy Hollow Manor - Staff IDs
I want to repeat my complaints about the design of the staff nametags:
The corp. logo is bigger than the personal name, often leading to misunderstanding.
Note: The residents tend to have poor vision.
Nametags are USUALLY not visible: on a hip or flipped over.
Description: Side 1: top left corner: "BEVERLY" in Roman 12 caps;
Center top : hole punch for clip
Left half: 1.5sq photo;
Right half: row 2 : Arial narrow 20 : First Name ;
Row 3 : Last name ;
Last 2 rows : Title & License type (RN, MD, CNA,...) ;
Side 2 : Center top : hole punch for clip ;
Row 2 : Arial narrow 24 : First Name & Last name ;
Row 4 : Tahoma 14 : Title & License type ;
Row 6 : Arial 12 : Facility Name
Bottom row : Batang 12 caps: Company logo :Roman 16: Empl.ID#

The nursing stations seem to avoid answering the phones more, now that the phones go to "Info-Star" more often, making it more often impossible to call a resident in the evening!!!

This is an intermittent, but continuing problem, apparently caused by the operator failing to perform the correct actions before going home. The problem usually persists until the next work day. The best alternative is to press "0" to get the nite supervisor, and ask to be transferred to the room. We need to keep the administrator aware of this continuing problem, so the residents are not so isolated by staff mis-management.

I just found out that memory support visits are available from 'speech therapy' folk.
We will try to get all her album photos labeled, for her as well as friends & family.

Note: The 'new' Ex.Dir. is gone soon. Mark Howard was encouraging and helpful while he lasted. Please keep an eye out for his replacement.

My mother noticed most of the staff are now wearing new name tags, and says they are much easier to read. I noticed they still use the swivel clips, and so still frequently flip over, but they don't flip as much as the smaller ones did.

A 'Family Council' meeting will be conducted by the new Administrators, on Tuesday, December 11, at 6PM, probably in the Crystal Room.
